Profile of Haruko Uehara

After graduating from the Kunitachi College of Music Junior High School and the Music Department of the Kunitachi College of Music,

 

in 1987, she graduated from the Kunitachi College of Music, majoring in instrumental piano.

 

She began studying under Ikuko Endo in 1982, and Kanako Inagawa in 1983.

 

She studied under Vlado Perlemuter and Pierre Barbizet at the Poitiers Summer Music College, organized by the Japan-France Music Society (honorary chairman, the late Tomojiro Ikeuchi). Pierre Barbizet praised her as a "grand pianist."

 

In 1990, she studied under Mayako Muroi.

 

In 1991, she received a scholarship to study in Germany. She studied under Rudger Maxsein.

 

In 1993, she graduated from the Folkwang University of the Arts, Germany, where she has performed in numerous concerts, including solo recitals, chamber music, and instrumental and vocal accompaniment.

 

She also uploads videos to her YouTube channel.

 

In addition to performing, he has been teaching the next generation of musicians for over 30 years, focusing on the theme of "Differences between Eastern and Western playing styles."
